mmmuffaletta

adam and i started making dinner together when we were roomies. it goes without saying that we both love to eat, but i think our joint cooking ventures started because of tv. we'd watch hours and hours of food porn cooking shows until we were delirious with hunger and deluded enough to think that we could just whip up whatever ina garten had spent the last nine episodes making. then, a quick trip to the grocery store followed by seventy two hours dizzying around in the kitchen and voila! dinner was served!

when we eventually moved in to our own places, we decided to keep making dinner. so every tuesday night  for the past (almost) two years, we hang out at adam's and cook. then we eat and watch wipeout. (if you're ever sad, watch an episode. it's very serious about being hillarious.) so basically, i love tuesdays.

anyways, dinner last night was amazing! and predictably, i forgot my camera.
i did however take this lovely photo of the leftovers i crammed into my bag for lunch.
so picture this, but less mangled:

muffeletta- the sandwich.

featuring in order of appearance:

foccacia
mayonnaise
fontina
pickled vegetables
roasted red pepper
basil
red onion
prosciutto
mortadella
soppresata
calabria
olive tapenade
more foccacia

the pickled vegetables were so good- cauliflower, green beans, olives, pepperoncinis, carrots!
i also loved making the sandwiches. stack + press = fun! PANINI MAKER 4 LIFE.

oh yeah. then right after all of this next level sandwich stuff, we ate pecan pie that adam MADE FROM SCRATCH. with MAPLE WHIPPED CREAM.

i ate my piece in a trillisecond and then promptly wanted to die because it felt like i was pregnant with food triplets.

tuesdays, man.
so epic.

the worst!

i'm the worst at keeping up with this bullshit! HOW DOES ANYONE FIND THE TIME?!!
between e-crosswords, fashion blogs and actual work i'm swamped....

speaking of work work, i just finished up this little poster:

tonight is dinner with adam, and i'm christening the panini maker that jonny's parents sent us. expect a delicious photo update to follow!

bye bye my babies,

why?!!

i think that when people up and start a blog, it's usually for at least one of the following reasons:

-they are passionate about something and want to share that passion
-they are knowledgeable about something and want to teach others
-they are painfully bored
-they have low self esteem and want e-validation from complete strangers

unfortunately for whoever may wind up accidentally reading this, none of the aforementioned motivators apply to this little project. i don't care about anything enough to learn about it, and i have next to no free time. plus, my self esteem is through the roof- I'M PRACTICALLY A GENIUS GUYS.

i decided to start blogging because i am terribly forgetful. i never, ever remember anything that happens in my life for more than twenty seconds after it occurs. goldfish brain, human body- my eternal dilemma. i'm hoping that this blog will help me archive important and not so important things, so that  from time to time i can look back with fond nostalgia and/or deep regret.

anyways, that's the goal.

i'll probably start tomorrow.

baby's first blog!

yeah, yeah i started a blog.
i know i'm at least ten years late on this, but i've been really busy not being a nerd.
ok, that's enough for now.
